| President's Message
Dear Miner Alumni,
On behalf of the UTEP Alumni Association Board of Directors and the Office of Alumni Relations, we hope that you enjoyed your St. Valentine's Day and remind you that your alma mater loves you, too!
On Valentine's Day we asked our Facebook fans to post a picture or comment about their UTEP Valentine – it was so heartwarming! Our favorite story is featured below. Every couple who posted also will be receiving a Miner Pick Pin… it pays to get involved, and to keep checking Facebook for more giveaways, events, and to connect with other Miners!
There are so many ways you can get involved as Spring is nearing. From volunteering to participating in events that raise money for scholarships, or just sharing our news with your friends, everyone can get involved and stay connected!
As always, Picks up... GO MINERS!

UTEP Sweethearts
On Valentine's Day we asked our facebook fans to tell us their UTEP Love story. A Miner wrote: "I am still with my UTEP sweetheart. I met the love of my life at the UTEP Dinner Theatre while she was painting on the set for Into The Woods in 1991. I fell in love with her during the production of the show. It took her a little longer but by the winter of 1992 we were sweethearts. It's 21 years later and we are still together. I cherish every day we have together especially since breast cancer could have taken her away from me in 2008."

Golf Tournament 2012
It is that time of year again – the UTEP Alumni Association is looking for sponsors for the 2012 Golf Tournament coming up Friday, August 17, 2012. Last year we raised over $30,000 for scholarships and we want to raise at least $50,000 this year!

This Month's Affinity Partner: Josten's
Did you know that every time someone purchases an Official UTEP Ring, Josten's pays the UTEP Alumni Association a royalty that is applied directly to scholarships?
Last year, the Student Alumni Association helped make the Official Ring Ceremony a UTEP tradition by establishing a UTEP Ring Creed. If you never purchased an Official UTEP Ring, as alumni you are all invited do so now. Best of all, you can participate in the April 24th ceremony if you order by March 9th!
