Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) Information
A message to UTEP Alumni:

Dear Miners,

The past few weeks have been a challenge for our entire country as we adjust to new ways of living, working and communicating – all so that we can keep each other safe during this COVID-19 Pandemic. Yet, as we are physically apart, we have never been more united as Miners.

As alumni of this great university, we share a resilience and determination.

Throughout the country, there are Miners doing their part to keep our respective communities healthy and secure. We have Miners who work in the healthcare and law enforcement industries working the “front lines.” We have Miners who are teachers, educating thousands of students around the country through a computer screen instead of a classroom. We have Miners who are restaurant and business owners, counting on the rest of us to help them through this crisis, and the Miner volunteers helping those in most need.

Miners: We are all united in this unprecedented crisis. We have had to take a pause from day-to-day activities, celebrating milestones and other events for which we had planned. And while it may be some time before we can resume our normal routines, we take comfort in knowing that our Miner Family is strong.

Let’s help each other by:

  • Staying home and following all CDC guidelines in regard to COVID-19;
  • Supporting local restaurants when possible through take-out or delivery orders;
  • Supporting UTEP students affected by the COVID-19 crisis by donating the UTEP Student Emergency Fund; Click here to donate;
  • Supporting El Pasoans Fighting Hunger Food Bank. Click here to learn how;
  • Calling our elderly family members and/or neighbors to see if they need anything during this time;
  • And, staying positive. Our Miner Spirit will go a long way in keeping us connected.

Together we will overcome this. We are: Miners Forever. Stronger Together.
