Learn how to apply to be the next Top 10 Senior!

This year’s application will be submitted through MineTracker. Below is a breakdown of the questions and required items you’ll need to complete within the application. Once you’re ready to apply, submit everything here.

 

Recorded and Uploaded Videos

Post your videos to YouTube as unlisted videos, and share the link to each in the respective text bow in the application. There are instructions below on how to do so.

  1. Introduction Video (Submitted on the Introduction page)
    • Tell us about YOU!
    • Prepare a 1–2-minute video that provides a summary of your background, your time at UTEP, your passions, and your plans after graduation.
  2. Why are you a UTEP Top Ten Senior. (Submitted on the Evaluation Questions Page)
    • Prepare a 1–2-minute video that summarizes how you’ve embodied a UTEP Top Ten Senior.

Evaluation Questions

  1. How did UTEP impact you, and what is the legacy you leave at UTEP?
    1. Short Answer Response (250 – 500 words)
    2. Submission Criteria: Be specific about the impact.
    3. Consider UTEP Edge Experiences from UTEP programs, community, academic, student engagement, faculty/staff mentorship, scholarships, research, travel opportunities, etc.
  2. What were your top two most meaningful UTEP Edge Experiences and why?
    1. Short Answer Response (250 – 500 words)
    2. Submission Criteria: Select two UTEP Edge Experiences and explain what they were and why it was meaningful.
  3. What challenges did you overcome while at UTEP and how did those challenges make you the person you are today?
    1. Essay Response (500 – 750 words)
    2. Submission Criteria: Be specific about the challenges and how they affected you.
  4. How do you exemplify the core traits of a Top Ten Senior now and in the future?
    1. Short Answer (250 – 500 words)
    2. Submission Criteria: Top Ten Seniors exemplify the highest ideal of academics, service, and leadership throughout their time at UTEP.
  5. What are meaningful and impactful engagement practices that further advance the University's mission and help students? As an alum, how would you embody these practices?
    1. Short Answer (250 – 500 words)
    2. Submission Criteria: Be specific about the engagement practices. Consider what is the University’s mission.

How to Upload Unlisted Short Videos to YouTube - Web/Desktop

  1. Sign in to YouTube:
    • Open the YouTube app or go to YouTube.com in your browser and sign in/create Google account.
  2. Click the Upload Button:
    • On the web version, click the Create button (camera icon) in the upper-right corner.
    • Select Upload a video.
  3. Select Your Video:
    • Choose the video file you want to upload from your device.
  4. Add Video Details:
    • Enter a title and description for your video.
    • Scroll down to the Visibility section.
  5. Set Privacy to Unlisted:
    • Under Visibility, select Unlisted. This means only people with the link can view the video, and it won’t show up in search results.
  6. Select Your Audience:
    • Choose if your video is made for kids or not. You should be able to say it is for kids since these are professional videos.
  7. Upload Your Video:
    • Once everything is set, click Next and continue through any other prompts, then click Upload.
  8. Share the Unlisted Video Link:
    • After uploading, copy the link to your video and share it with others.

 

How to Upload Unlisted Short Videos to YouTube from Your Phone

  1. Open the YouTube App:
    • Ensure you’re signed in to your Google account.
  2. Tap the Plus (+) Icon:
    • At the bottom of the screen, tap the + icon.
  3. Select Your Upload Type:
    • Choose either:
      • Create a Short: If your video is under 60 seconds, this option allows for quick uploads.
      • Upload a Video: For longer videos, select this option to upload from your phone’s gallery.
  4. Choose or Record Your Video:
    • Select a video from your phone’s gallery or record a new video.
  5. Trim and Edit (Optional):
    • Trim or edit your video if needed.
  6. Add Details:
    • Add a title and description for your video.
  7. Set Privacy to Unlisted:
    • In the Privacy section, choose Unlisted so only people with the link can see the video.
  8. Select Audience:
    • Choose whether your video is made for kids or not.
  9. Upload Your Video:
    • Tap Next and then Upload to start uploading your unlisted video.
  10. Share the Video Link:
    • After the upload is complete, copy the link to share with others as needed.
